Billie's new bike surprise
by Rex Walraven

Bland had carefully set up a little surprise for Billie, and some of us knew
she was getting her bike and rode down to the A/V H-D shop to watch Billie
receive her new Road King. As it worked out I 'happened' to run into Bland
and Billie at the shop on Friday morning, and Dennis and Amy showed up there
too.

After browsing around for a while, Ass't Mgr (I don't know his title -
part owner. mgr?) Scott was explaining to Billie that the blue and silver
paint was having bleed through problems and they were being delayed in the
delivery on that color scheme. He even had one out back that he could show
her the problem. Ron showed up and we walked through the shop to the wash
rack and Scott pointed to the bike that was being washed and Billie was
looking at it to see the paint, but the bike was still being washed too, so
as she stood there and was checking it out, it finally clicked that it had
her wheels, the flames, and everything she ordered. She finally realized it
was her bike and she you could see the surprise all over her face.
Bland and Scott had done an excellent job and she was ecstatic over an all
wet bike.

They pushed it in the shop to dry it off and she was checking
everything out, she even did a little skip jump thing that had everyone
laughing. Wade Tallman showed up and we all had a good time watching Ron,
Scott and Woody work on her bike drying it off. What a team to work on the
bike!

Of course they (Billie and Bland) had to add a few last minute things
and so we all went to lunch at the Olive Garden, then came back and they
signed the paperwork and Billie and I saddled up and Bland drove the
four-wheeler back to Ridgecrest. Dennis and Amy had stayed at the mall, and
Wade had to get back earlier in the afternoon.

A great day for the Burchett couple. And as one A/V H-D customer who was a
spectator watching Billie get her new bike was told by Bland, "She's worth
it!"

Yes she is...worth it! ;)
Bland with his jeans pockets inside-out and wallet empty!
Ninety-five cu. in. kit, heads flowed by Earl, Thunderheader 2-into-1 pipes, 95-some-odd horse power (stock is approx. 64 HP), "un-laced" wheels, heated grips, etc., etc.... Can you say: "Billee's High-maintenance...ka-ching"$$$$$$$$$$$$
