Lunch Ride to Ethel's Old Corral Cafe Bakersfield (Go...!)

This Saturday we have a ride planned up to Bakersfield to Ethel’s Old Corral. This is a rather unique place up on the north east side of Bakersfield. We will meet at the Inyokern 76 station at 0915 and plan on being on the road by 0930. The ride will take us up 178 through Lake Isabella and down the other side of 178 through the Kern River Canyon. This is always a nice ride through the canyon and at that time of the morning it should be rather nice weather wise. At around 10am the weather is predicted to be 77 degrees. The high in Bakersfield on Saturday is predicted to be 95 degrees but that should be later in the afternoon. When we get through the canyon and into the valley we will be taking Alfred Harrell Highway then through Kern River and Hart Memorial parks.

Ethel’s has been there for many years and is dominated by the huge Indian statue out in front of the place. One thing that I will point out is unless they have changed their policy they only take cash so if you are planning on going on the ride bring some cash with you.

We will be making a brief stop at the top of Walker pass at the marker so that Deb and I can get a couple pictures to put in our Cal State HOG Rally passport. This should only take a couple minutes then we will be back on our way.

So to summarize if you are going on the ride to Ethel’s be at the IYK 76 at 915 with kick stands up at 0930. Bring cash to pay for lunch.
