Early on...Judy had the wish to take a long Harley ride to visit her kids and family for our honeymoon. That meant riding to Santa Fe, TX (south of Houston) to visit Teddi...on to Decatur, IN to visit her son, Gary, and family...and on to Streetsboro, OH (south of Cleveland) to visit her brother, Jay, and family. We wanted to ride to Santa Clara, CA to see her daughter, LeAnn, and Lenard...but after 7000 miles and some 25-days...we were out of time! LeAnn attended our wonderful wedding, 29 Feb 2004.

Early during our trip...our weather was ideal (mostly low-to-mid-80s)...with high 90s from San Antonio to Santa Fe, TX. It was generally nice-to-cool and often rainy from Decatur-to-Streetsboro-to-Chicago-to-Milwaukee-to-La Crosse-to-Rapid City-to-Cheyenne (38-deg and rains west of Laramie, WY at 8600-feet)-to-Salt Lake City. Temperatures went over 100-deg for the first time in Las Vegas, NV.

We used a dozen memory sticks of digital photos...one every couple of days on average. But we've heavily edited...so not to worry!!!

We didn't travel lightly! Our little Spartan trailer pulled like a dream..full of rain gear, full-face helmets, ice chest of goodies, carry-on luggage, gifts,...
We rode toward Texas thru Joshua Tree National Park...a first for us
Stopped to visit Quartzite, AZ...on our way to Casa Grande
In Casa Grande, AZ we met up with Vicki and Gordon Peludat...who rode there to visit a nephew. They were further on their way to check out Las Cruces, NM.
While shopping for a restaurant in Las Cruses, NM...Judy backed into a local cactus...and spent some time sitting down to de-splin her britches and socks!
Crossing the border to El Paso, TX
Barnett Harley-Davidson, El Paso, TX
Oops! The only accident we saw
The Alamo, San Antonio, TX
Hugs at Teddi's...where she waited for her husband, Mike, to return from Iraq a week later! They were married in the Bahamas this past December.
Teddi and Mike's future home site
Galveston, TX
Toward Baton Rouge, LA
Riding the Natchez Trace Parkway...toward Vicksburg and the battle field
Toward Elvis's birthplace
What a wonderful stay in Nashville, TN
The Opryland Resort has over 2800 rooms...600,000 sq ft...and had 300 gardeners before 9/11. After 9/11...they dropped their gardening staff to 100. They have beautiful indoor landscaping...lots of brick and stone and water and plants to enjoy.
Louisville, KY Harley-Davidson...in my birthtown!
Judy's son, Gary, wife, Jody, and grand kids, Alysha and Ben, in Decatur, IN
Judy reunited with old friends!!
Let the rains begin! From Decatur-to-Streetsboro and then the trip west...we had rains off-and-on. But we were prepared...and enjoyed every minute of it!!!!!
Judy's brother's cabin on a lake near Streetsboro, OH...where my mom's family still live...and we visited with them too
Judy's brother, Jay, his wife, Sue, thieir son, Steve, and daughter-in-law, Crystal
Judy's brother's wife's parents
My cousin's daughter, Carolyn, and my aunt, Wilda, in Chesterland, Ohio
Carolyn and her two boys, Ethan and Charlie, with my aunt
We had to visit Milwaukee, WI...and tour the Harley Sportster/Buell engine plant. It was a wonderful visit. Harley-Davidson bought this WWII aircraft plant in 1948. It's twice its original size at 148,000 sq. ft. today. They build 300 engines a day. (No cameras allowed inside.)
This is getting to be a part of Judy and my trips! Here we at UPS...shipping unwanted stuff home. We were finished visiting friends and family...so shipped our "good" clothes...plus stuff we bought and hadn't gotten shipped by a Harley store.
In La Crosse, WI...after riding the last hour in 3-inches of rain!!!! It could have been worse! The same evening...it rained 8-inches in Souix Falls, SD on the other side of Minnesota.
Judy saw this photo op in Minnesota. That's a tall platform inside with two old Harley's on display...with a high window behind them.
Mitchell Corn Palace in South Dakota
Famous Wall Drugs, 50 miles east of Rapid City, SD. You'll see signs continuously for hundreds of miles advertising the stop!
This is one of my favorite pictures of Judy on our trip. We're riding in light rains of the South Dakota Bad Lands National Park...near Wall Drugs.
A month early for the Sturgis 2004 festivities...but fun none-the-less! Judy and I rode to Sturgis in 2002 with HOG club friends.
The famous Full Throttle Saloon is pretty quiet during Sturgis off-rally days.
Judy in the high country of Wyoming!
Judy took this picture thru our motel window thru a screen. I'm spending a bit of morning time to wipe down the Road King before the day's ride.
Both our dreams come true! YIPPEE!
