RAG HOG Picnic at Lake Diaz |
Posted: 22 September 2007 |
Our
camping & picnicing destination... Lake Diaz...just south of Lone Pine, CA... 70 miles north of Ridgecrest |
Below
are some camping rigs... |
The
club's Saturday morning golfing session didn't go as planned! There was a tournament going on at the Lone Pine golf course... that we weren't told about when we called for reservations. So...our golfers did the best they could... on the putting green and driving range! |
Debbie
and Susan...setting the picnic party mood!... ;-) |
Now
just how are we guys suppose to do that... with you biker babes misbehaving?... ;-) |
Then
there's Bad Bobby -- CENSORED! ;-) |
Meanwhile...new
member Lee and Debbie, and Joe, and Judy and I... rode up to Lake Diaz via Trona, Panamint Springs... and the east side of Owens Lake |
And
when Judy and I got there...daughter Heidi, son-in-law Stephen... and granddaughters Haley and Hanna were there waiting. They'd left Ridgecrest at 7 AM in 55-deg weather... to ride their Harleys up to the Bristlecone Pines in the White Mountains east of Big Pine. Mike Moore...who's known Heidi for years... pointed out that you don't often see a woman riding two-up -- like Heidi and daughter Hanna! |
Haley,
Heidi, Hanna, Cheryl and Wade (the chef) |
Son-in-law
Stephen Farmer rides a Wide Glide |
Susan...the
ole corn bread eater! |
Not
everybody enjoying the picnic is stuck with two legs! ;-) |
Wade...beginning
the drawings! |
Dwight,
Cheryl and Vikki relaxing. Dwight again was good enough to the make arrangements for the Lake Diaz camp sites... |
Clint
got us hooked on his game of "Red Neck Horse Shoes"... played with washers and a wooden box with a bucket in it! |
This
is what happens when you give a camera to Robert!... ;-) |
Oh
oh...caught again! Tee hee... |
Josh (and Wade) showing us some Navy/Marine
dice games: |
Deb
and Jim, Debbie and Les and Joe arrive in time to eat.... |
It's not the most flattering picture
of Cheryl... |
There's
Lake Diaz...the source of all the night-visiting raccoons!... |
As
Judy and I were leaving the picnic... up the road a mile or so...Joe's bike was broken down -- wouldn't turn over. They'd lifted the tank, etc. looking for broken wires. |
We
tried to push start Joe's bike down hill...against the traffic... |
...only
to be caught immediately by the HighWay Patrol!!!! SIGH!... |
The
officer was very polite and understanding... wanting to be sure we had water...and a plan. |
The
plan was to move the bike back to the campsite... and wait for Jim to return with his motorhome and lift. |
THE
END! |
